PDL is a Gloucester City Council approved testing station for hackney carriage and private hire vehicles. Test and MOT together, meter testing on request, and a quick turnaround on any repairs — because every hour off the road costs you money.
Gloucester licensed taxis are required by law to have an MOT and a council compliance inspection once a year, even if the vehicle is less than three years old. The compliance test goes beyond the MOT: it covers the condition of the interior and seating, signage and plates, the meter, the fire extinguisher and first-aid kit where required, and the general presentation of the vehicle as a licensed taxi.
Because we're approved for both, you can have the MOT and the compliance test done together in one visit — one booking, one trip, and a combined rate. Tell us in the booking notes that it's a taxi, or just call.
If something fails, we photograph it and text you an itemised quote straight away. Approve it and we get on with it, usually the same day, so you're back on the rank. Taxi drivers get our trade labour rates and loyalty terms — ask Paul. You're welcome to supply your own parts if you prefer, although those aren't covered by our warranty.
